Mrs. Upshaw's Music Class
Greetings from Crescent Vocal Music! I am Rebecca Upshaw, the vocal music teacher and I am so excited to be here in Crescent for my second y ear! Last year was a great year and I am looking forward to all the new and exciting things we will experience this year.
I graduated in 2005 from Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Music Education. While there, I had the opportunity to teach part-time for Harding Charter Preparatory High School in Oklahoma City where I began the vocal music program. I taught there for three years and then moved to Sequoyah Elementary School also in Oklahoma City. I taught Kindergarten through Fifth Grade Music and coordinated many musical programs. I have also had two years experiencing teaching Middle School general music for another charter school in Oklahoma City.
Throughout college and my teaching career I've had many performance opportunities including work in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Willson's The Music Man, as well as many Broadway revues and choral performances. I look forward to training your students to not only be great performers but also disciplined musicians.
