TSR Curriculum
The curriculum is standards-based, driven by Oklahoma's Priority Academic Student Skills (PASS), and the National Science Education Standards.
Technology is an integral part of the curriculum, designed for 24/7 Internet delivery to individual student computers.
Students are provided an opportunity to work in a "facilitated" learning environment, both individually and in collaboration with others. They are given authentic assignments and projects and learn self-assessment of their academic products.
In short, students use the curriculum to "research, produce and present".
Education may be simple to define, but the process of education is very complex.

TSR Laboratory Experience
Hypothesis-based labs are used in all classes. Very few labs provide detailed "cookbook" procedures.
Students actually use the process of science to form and test their own hypotheses for lab questions and problems. A "lab key" is often provided to facilitate student research.
Students make a written report of their experimental design, results and conclusions guided by a teacher-prepared rubric.
The following resources are part of the lab experience in all TSR classes:

TSR History
In 1995 Superintendent Steve Shiever challenged his science teacher to find a way for students to use computers in the classroom every day. As the student to computer ratio approached 1:1, textbooks were discarded in favor of web-based curriculum delivery.
The curriculum began as an outline of class topics. Between 1996 and 2002, the outlines were expanded to provide a complete curriculum, including resources and assignments, for all science classes.
In 2007, the pages were optimized to display equally well on regular computer screens and the 3.5 inch touch screens of hand-held devices.
The purpose of a teacher
is to present problems,
NOT solutions.
